In the July-Oct 2018 edition of Trail and Landscape magazine (page 184), the Ottawa Field Naturalists’ Club identified the Carp River Restoration Area as one of the best places in Ottawa for observing shorebirds, particularly during migration periods and when the Ottawa River is high.
eBird Canada has four hot spots at the restoration site, three north of Highway 417 and one south of Hwy 417 for recording bird observations. Pathways are available at both sites. You can view the lists of the latest sightings. Add your own sightings to eBird if you have an account or record your observations using iNaturalist. See our Citizen Science page for more information.
